Wherein Bry hates November.

November is probably my least favorite month, and that counts August when it is so hot I want to die.

It is probably the drastic change in weather - the abrupt temperature drop - and the time switch. Plus, November is the start of the big holiday season.

All of these factors lead to a general feeling of depression and fatigue. This is the month I always feel the worst about myself and the most vulnerable. Which means I up my snark factor by a billion to compensate.

After a few weeks, I usually pop out of it. By December things are generally back to normal. In the mean time, I have to muster my strength and power through this hot mess of a month.

Luckily, RF is in town for a long weekend and he is like a dose of the best medicines money can buy. I miss having him around to hang with and to tease. It is hard to believe it has been 10 years since we met.

Speaking of 10 years, I cannot believe that I have been living in Oregon for this long. I have almost been living here as long as any other state I have lived in. But Montana is still my favorite and my home.

I had an eye exam last week and ordered new glasses. They should be in the end of this week. I am a little nervous about the return to metal frames after 10(!) years of hipster plastic frames. And I had to pick them out myself. I cannot see anything beyond a foot or so without my lenses. I have to sit on the floor with my face practically touching the mirror just to put my makeup on. So standing in a Dr's office looking in a mirror that is behind a low table, trying to get a clear look at my face, was awkward to say the least.

I will post a picture when I get them. Stay tuned!

  1. I'm excited to see your glasses -- they've always looked cool (whether you picked them out or not, I do not know). I am lucky and have perfect eye sight, but think the worst part of slowly going blind is actually picking out the frames. I think glasses look good on some people, and debate using my flexible healthcare dollars to buy frames with non-prescription glass in them -- is that crazy?
