Snow Day.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

For those of you who don't live in Portland, let me fill you in on a little weather news.

Starting last Sunday and going through to this very second, Portland has been experiencing snow, ice, snow. more snow. even more snow and super cold below 35 degree weather. And it has sucked balls. Majorly.

I normally would not complain about the snow and cold. I am a Montana girl by way of North Dakota (and a brief stop in Wyoming). I enjoyed the snow a lot this past Saturday. But then it just got out of control. Because the city has shut down. Like majorly shut down. No buses. State of emergency. Troubled 911 service.Etc. Etc. Etc.

Friday morning I left for work in the snow. After work, I went down town to see AA. I ended up staying the night after hanging out too late to catch the last bus.

So Saturday morning I woke when RF called to meet for breakfast. And it was snowing!

So we walked over to 23rd to catch some breakfast and then over to Borders downtown to buy a book. Some where between breakfast and Borders, the snow intensified. And then after Borders we went to Nordstrom Rack where I bought boots. And then we watched Four Christmases. And then we went home so I could try and get on the bus.

The bus that never came.

So after RF found me in a snow bank/bus stop, he took me home and DB, AA, RF, EB and I played Apples to Apples and ate some dinner. Then I spent the night on RF's couch.

And my cell phone completely died.

So in the morning I got up and went to work (This was Sunday). EB was the only supervisor there. There was one bookseller and one cashier. Most everyone else called out.

Thus beginning a cycle that has yet to end.

All the bus services to my apartment are canceled. I have been wearing the same clothes (I have washed them!) since Friday. I have slept on EB's couch since Sunday night. I have walked to and from work in more than a foot of snow Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

This morning after begging, pleading and pretty much crying - the land lord agreed to go check on the cat and feed him. MB is in California until after the New Year. Let's hope I can get home before then.

Because I have not been home, I have spent more money on cold weather gear, food and general care taking thus resulting in me being broke. So when we do thaw.......I'll still have no money and will still be sitting at home. (Hopefully my own).

My Christmas plans are shot.

Luckily, KT's mom lives within walking distance of the store so I am going there tomorrow and spending the night and then hopefully on Christmas Day I can get close enough to home to walk in to the apartment. We shall see.

Also, because of being stranded in various places, all my gifts to give away are left in various spare bedrooms. Plus, my mom shipped me some holiday presents and I'm sure they will sit at the post office until after the first!

I do have to thank EB. She has given me a couch to sleep on, made sure I didn't completely die while walking to work (I don't walk so well) and not made too big of a deal when I had a complete breakdown this morning. (Thinking about a stranded cat, wearing the same clothes, being cold and tired, broke and sad because it's the holidays starts to add up.). Luckily she is with her family today in Eugene because her aunt drove through and picked her up.

So I am sitting here waiting for my laundry to get done so I can go to bed to get up and be at the store by 7am.

My cell is completely dead and will remain so until I get home or find someone else with a Samsung charger that works for my phone. If you have called me or texted me, I have not received any of it and probably will not for quite some time.

Merry Christmas. God Bless us Everyone.
